During the last few months, humankind faced one of the greatest challenges of the century. Dealing with the unforeseen challenges caused by COVID-19 pandemic made us realise that even the most common things in life should not be taken for granted. For example, access to healthcare to treat non-emergency situations are very limited during these times of crises, mainly due to the lack of resources since the healthcare system is overload with emergency cases and also due to restrictions in contacts due to quarantine. During this time, family members and caregivers are unable to visit and help their loved ones with their everyday needs. Older adults are isolated and subsequently, any decline regarding their health status (both physical and cognitive) is difficult to be detected.
